IT Business Analyst
Our team has a won business contract available for a Business Analyst with an IT background with one of our Public Sector clients. This is a unique role that offers flexibility between business and technology.
Qualifications and Experience:
10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within the last 15 years;
Experience using VMWare, Citrix, and/or Microsoft; and
Secret Level II Security Clearance.
Bachelor's Degree in IT/3 year diploma from a recognized institution in Business or Technology.
Experience in conducting Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with clients;
Experience in project planning, requirements gathering, and execution tasks in support of platform initiatives
Experience in working with clients to gather requirements and developing information technology plans associated to those requirements
Experience in migrating enterprise scale applications from one infrastructure to another
Experience in information technology governance processes within the Government of Canada
Experience in data analysis - able to look at datasets on various platforms and identify and understand inconsistencies and how they relate to technology processes
Knowledge/experience of Agile and Scrum based project methodology
Ability to produce concise and accurate specifications of business needs
Knowledge/experience of system development projects supported by Microsoft Team Foundation System and/or SharePoint;
Experience on implementing Shared Services in a government department, including experience interacting with PWGSC and TBS;
Knowledge of enterprise-wide process improvement/implementation;
Develop and document detailed statement of requirements for the proposed platform.
Analyze functional requirements to identify information, procedures and decision flows.
Evaluate existing procedures and methods (including those leveraging virtualization technologies), identify and documents database content, structure, and application sub-systems, and develop data dictionary.
Define and document interfaces of manual to automated operations within sub-systems, to external systems and between new and existing systems.
Define input/output sources, including detailed plan for technical design phase, and obtain approval for system proposals.
Design and document in detail all system components, interfaces and operational environment.
Design data structures and files, sub-systems and modules, programs, batch, on line, and production monitoring procedures, testing strategy and systems.
Document system design, concepts and facilities, present and obtain approval of detailed system designs.
Produce operational systems documentation including all forms, manuals, programs, data files and procedures.
Conduct risk analysis on proceeding with various solution approaches and develop contingency plans to ensure that the risk is mitigated.
